New for Disney’s Incredible Summer, the Guardians of the Galaxy have arrived at Epcot. Since Epcot is the park I spend the least amount of time at, it took me until last week to see their brand-new show, Awesome Mix Live.
That was a stupid decision.
Awesome Mix Live was AMAZING! For some reason, Jay and I were under the impression it was a dance party instead of a show. It is a full stage show featuring a live band in addition to appearances by Star Lord and Gamora, and Baby Groot shows up on screen. The singers are insanely talented and the show is super high energy. They do several songs from both Guardians of the Galaxy films, and when we were there, they used one of the songs featured in Disney California Adventure’s Mission Breakout. I’m unsure if they play the same songs every time or if they change it up.
I took a ton of pictures during the show, in between singing loudly and off-key. I feel like I was the most excited person in the audience. Thankfully, it was super easy to get good seats, we were there on a Thursday and got there about half an hour early.

Awesome Mix Live is surprisingly well thought out. The plot is a bit of stretch, but hey, it has a plot! They go through the trouble of explaining why the Xandar Symphony Orchestra (I think that was the name) has shown up at Epcot, and then how Star Lord is teaching them hit Earth songs instead of their usual tunes.
I’m going to have to find time to go back to Epcot between now and August 19th, when Awesome Mix Live goes away. Awesome Mix Live is too good to only see once!
