The Wedding Video

Dec 8, 2020

We did not hire a videographer for the wedding. We didn’t need to. My degree is in video production. While I couldn’t record my own wedding video, I could make sure the cameras were set in the right places and edit it together myself. My brother has worked on almost every movie I’ve ever made in one way or another, so not only does he know how to operate my camera, he knows how I like things shot.

In typical Robby fashion, there were several clips that did not make it into the final cut, but they were certainly hilarious.

What was also nice was because I got all of the raw footage instead of something that was already edited, I got to see what was happening in the Outlook before I walked down the aisle, and what was discussed while we were out together in the hallway. There’s also some stuff from our late Pirate Night adventures that I do not remotely remember, but there’s video evidence.

Like everything else for this wedding, this wedding video is not very traditional. Not that I’ve actually watched a ton of wedding videos, but I put this together the way I wanted it, rather than how it “should” be. It’s also rather long because I kept the readings, the ceremony, and the toast in there in full. Don’t worry, if you don’t want to sit through a forty-minute video, our friend Gary, over at Coasting With Culture, edited his own video of it as a surprise!

Chelsea! Forty-minutes is way too long! You’ll never watch it!

Are you kidding me? I’ve already watched it like a dozen times, plus all the times I played through all the footage while I was doing the editing!

Moving to Orlando in 2013 to join the Disney College Program was the start of the Great Florida Adventure for Chelsea and her best friend Duffy Bear. Now they spend their days exploring all there is to do in the Orlando area and seeing what adventures life where the rest of the world vacations brings.
