#GivingTuesday: GKTW Fundraising Update

Nov 27, 2018

Happy Tuesday everyone! The Give Kids the World Challenge for Hope 5K is a little over a week away, and we’re still super short on our fundraising goals! Back in August, I announced our fundraising mission of $500 for Give Kids the World, and, as of posting time, we are only 36% of the way there! I know we can do better than that!

The Give Kids The World Village provides cost-free vacations to children and families battling critical illnesses, and to try to create happiness and hope when these families need it most.

When a child is diagnosed with a critical illness, their family’s life become full of unexpected and unpredictable challenges, from doctor appointments to hospital stays and medical treatments, but for one week, children and families have the chance to laugh, play and simply spend time together – both at the Village and at Central Florida’s world-class theme parks and attractions.

Give Kids The World Village becomes a home-away-from-home during their once-in-a-lifetime trip and it doesn’t cost the families a cent.

That’s why we’re taking on the Challenge for Hope. On December 8, we’ll join fellow Challengers at the Village, as we run through a 5K that captures the magic families experience during their stay. But we can’t do it without your help!

Remember, every donation will be acknowledged and thanked on our social media, and every public donation will be listed in the article written about the race.

If we reach $250 in donations, I’ll host a poll so you guys can vote on what costumes we wear for the race.

If we reach $500 in donations, we’ll take our medals to Disney to show Mickey.

If we reach $1,000 in donations, we’ll livestream the race.

If we reach $2,000 in donations, we’ll have the biggest giveaway the blog has ever had, and only people who donated will be eligible. (Sadly, anonymous donors will be ineligible so let us know you donated!)

Thank you for supporting us and the brave children who visit Give Kids The World.

Moving to Orlando in 2013 to join the Disney College Program was the start of the Great Florida Adventure for Chelsea and her best friend Duffy Bear. Now they spend their days exploring all there is to do in the Orlando area and seeing what adventures life where the rest of the world vacations brings.
