What’s Going on With the Random Article Topics?

Mar 9, 2021

If you’ve been around Twenty Something in Orlando for a while, you know last week’s article was different than the usual. (Basically, I rambled for 2,264 words about how excited I am about the Avatar Studios projects coming to Paramount Plus.) A lot of my writing lately has been a little different than usual, but I’ve got good reasons. Since we just passed my and Jay’s first wedding anniversary, and Twenty Something in Orlando turns four later this month, I thought now would be a good time to explain myself.

1) -gestures at… well everything- Even when I’m comfortable leaving the house, it’s usually not for very long. We haven’t been going new places. Mostly we go places that we can leave easily if we decide there’s too many people.

2) I am not unemployed yet, but I am not working, and will be unemployed shortly. Don’t worry, I have a plan. I’m just being extra cautious about how I spend my money for the time being. (If you’re still worried, you can check out the Support TSO page!)

3) Chelsea, if you’re not working don’t you have more time to write? I do! Except at the moment, I’m writing a book! I’m hoping it will be ready to self-publish late spring or early summer.

4) I’m also using my downtime to work on a lot of house projects. I’ve already made over the closet in our bedroom and am partway through painting the home office. I have many more projects planned. Since most of our house is heavily themed, I plan on doing articles on these projects down the road to show you guys how someone who had no idea what she was doing pulled off some cool stuff!

5) The office project is also going to make it easier for me to do talking head videos and video game play throughs. I have some fun stuff planned.

So, Twenty Something in Orlando is not taking a break or anything like that. Not really. But as soon as I get done writing this, I’m going to be disconnecting my computer so I can work on the office, and I’m not really going to be able to publish until I get it back up and running. I do have a laptop I can write on if I need to, but for the moment, finishing the office and getting my desktop back up and running is going to be my priority. You are going to see more variety in content going forward though. Don’t worry, the Adventure Reports will keep coming, they’re just going to mixed with some other fun stuff in the meantime. I’ve always said I am not a theme park blog, I am a life in Orlando blog, and for the moment at least, most of my life is spent at home. Besides, my writing style has evolved a lot over the last four years and it’s time to branch out a little.

Moving to Orlando in 2013 to join the Disney College Program was the start of the Great Florida Adventure for Chelsea and her best friend Duffy Bear. Now they spend their days exploring all there is to do in the Orlando area and seeing what adventures life where the rest of the world vacations brings.
