Trainer Tuesday: I-Drive 360

Aug 15, 2017

The I-Drive 360 Complex is famous for being the home of the Orlando Eye, the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the SEALIFE Aquarium, and SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology. It is also the home of everyone’s favorite digital wildlife, Pokémon. There’s also some great restaurants and bars for an excellent source of air conditioning while you’re there. Some places you can pick up WIFI, but not always.

While this is not an all-day Pokémon destination, Pokémon hunting while you visit the attractions can be a fun addition to your day. If you can time your visit with Happy Hour, even better. There are a lot of fantastic specials you can find in the bars and restaurants. Plus, the complex is one of the few places on I-Drive with free parking, and you can wander around to other places to find that hard to find Vulpix that’s on your radar. Even when I’m only at the Eye for a little bit, I still catch a good number of critters.

Pros: Free parking, great attractions to visit.

Cons: WIFI is inconsistent, not a large area for walking.

Pokéstops: 2

Gyms: 2

Rare Catches: Pikachu.

This week also led to my first successful experience with Raids! I have tried in the past when the Legendary Pokémon were first released, but I never had a group big enough to beat them. I think my biggest raiding party was three. Jay and I had just arrived at Disney Springs and were making our way over to Blaze when I spotted a Zapdos with ten minutes left on the Raid. We raced over there to find a huge group trying to coordinate an attack. We joined in with them and the fourteen of us managed to take it down. Upon beating it, we received 12 Golden Raspberries and 10 of the Premiere Balls to try to catch him. I think I caught him on the seventh attempt. Jay caught him as well, and despite our difference in levels they both are the same CP. I think we were two out of four in the group of fourteen to make the catch.

Moving to Orlando in 2013 to join the Disney College Program was the start of the Great Florida Adventure for Chelsea and her best friend Duffy Bear. Now they spend their days exploring all there is to do in the Orlando area and seeing what adventures life where the rest of the world vacations brings.
