You might have noticed things have been a little quiet on the blog lately. I have good reasons, I promise! There were some technical difficulties (thank you Urban Scallywag for helping me get that fixed). I had a mountain of freelance work I was behind on. I had a guest post fall through. Jay and I both got extremely sick, and I was in bed for days. Twenty Something in Orlando also turned two years old on March 20th, and I had big plans that I didn’t get completed in time, which was discouraging and resulted in a massive case of writers’ block, but hopefully you guys will get to see what I’ve been working on next month!

When I go somewhere to write an article, I have a different mindset than when I’m going for fun. I pay more attention to the details, and sometimes I take notes. Lately, I’ve been more interested in enjoying Disney than writing about it.

Most importantly, on March 21st, Jay finally asked me to marry him. Well, I say finally, but I’m the one who told him he had to wait until we bought a house.

He told me we were going to Magic Kingdom for a tour, and there really was a tour, but I don’t remember most of it. We walked down to the castle before the park was really open for pictures. He had me turn to do the over the shoulder shot, and when I turned back around, there he was.

Of course, I said yes.

I called and woke my mother up before the tour to tell her. Nana, my grandmother, was already awake and started crying when I told her. My dad and several of my friends just got texts of the picture.

The tour was the Marceline to the Magic Kingdom Tour. There was a lot of information I didn’t know, which is unusual. We didn’t ride the Haunted Mansion, but we got to go in the ballroom, which was AMAZING! We were supposed to ride Winnie the Pooh, which is my favorite ride, and why Jay picked this particular tour, but apparently it was cut for time. We did visit the Carousel of Progress where our guide explained all sorts of cool behind the scenes things and talked along with the narration. I highly recommend this tour, and honestly, I’m going to need to do it again so I can pay better attention. I was really distracted for some odd reason!

After the tour, we went to see Mickey and Minnie so we could tell them our good news. Minnie was so excited for us, and fawning over the ring. Mickey was excited too, until Minnie wanted to know where her ring was!

We also had to swing by Space Mountain.

I don’t have too many details to share just yet. We have a date set for March 2020. My grandmother on my dad’s side was apparently telling my mom the other day, “Well, you just have to set a budget and make her stick to it.”

“She’s mostly paying for it, so she can do pretty much whatever she wants.”

More like I can do whatever I can afford, but I’m pretty good at maximizing my budget. I bought a house sooner than anyone thought I’d be able to!

If you’d like to help out, the single easiest way is to join Ebates. You can read the full review from Frugal Friday here, but long story short, you get cashback on things you were going to buy anyway. I get $25 for referring you, and you get a $10 welcome bonus after your first purchase! It’s a win-win!

We are registered at Amazon and Zola. I did that first because it sounded fun. Those links will be over in the sidebar of the blog until next March. I’m not asking for anything from my readers, nor expecting anything to come from sharing this, but I am nothing if not optimistic.

I look forward to sharing the wedding planning process with all of you in the Disney Dream Wedding series!

Moving to Orlando in 2013 to join the Disney College Program was the start of the Great Florida Adventure for Chelsea and her best friend Duffy Bear. Now they spend their days exploring all there is to do in the Orlando area and seeing what adventures life where the rest of the world vacations brings.
