AMC Fork and Screen

Jan 8, 2019

MoviePass was great while it lasted, but with all the problems it’s had Jay and I made the decision to jump to AMC A-List instead. So far, the jump to A-List is working out really well, but I’m slightly concerned about how much money I’ll spend going to Disney Springs this often!

On our first use of the A-List I accidentally booked us for the AMC Fork and Screen instead of the regular movie theaters, so we decided to make the most of it since it was our first time doing Fork and Screen.

We would have had a better time if we’d been seeing a different non-action, non-3D movie. Whoops.

AMC Dine-In Fork and Screen Theater

Apparently, they open the theater half an hour before showtime so you can get your food orders in, but we didn’t know that so we were ordering during the trailers. The pricing wasn’t bad since it is both a movie theater and on Disney property, but I still ordered a kid’s meal to try to cut the price down a little. The waiter was super nice about it too!

The waiters do their best to move in and out quickly and quietly, but it’s still a little distracting. Especially when they bring the bills out in the climax of the movie, and everyone whips out their cell phone to use the light to look at the total. Jay waited until the credits started to work out the tip. Jay got a burger and I got a kid’s chicken tenders, plus a pretzel appetizer. With two drinks, tax, and tip, the Fork and Screen bill was a little over $50 according to Jay. (I never actually saw it.) It’s not an inexpensive night out, once you add in the cost of the tickets but with A-List it was pretty affordable.

AMC Fork and Screen is best suited for drama or comedies, definitely not action films in 3D. It’s too easy to miss important bits or cool parts of fight scenes.

Cost: The tickets for the AMC Fork and Screen range from about $8-$15 depending on time of day, or free with A-List.

Value: The tickets and the food are a little on the high side, but it is really effective if you don’t have time for dinner and a movie. A nice splurge once in a while.

Duration: About two hours.

Add Ons: They serve alcohol!

Moving to Orlando in 2013 to join the Disney College Program was the start of the Great Florida Adventure for Chelsea and her best friend Duffy Bear. Now they spend their days exploring all there is to do in the Orlando area and seeing what adventures life where the rest of the world vacations brings.
