Last year, Jay and I were lucky enough to do the “Return to Sleepy Hollow” experience at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. This year I had hoped to do one of the premium packages, but I wasn’t able to lock down a date in time to make that work, because we had some unexpected guests. Doug had decided to come for a big Halloween adventure, right as my Mom was visiting too! So, the four of us piled into the Fiat and headed to Fort Wilderness to meet the Headless Horseman.
We had tickets to the 8:00 pm showing, and a reservation at Trails End at 6:05 pm. Plenty of time to stuff our faces before the show.
I had put together a Disneybound based on the movie version of the Headless Horseman. Sadly, I didn’t realize how different the version you actually meet looks. I should have used some purple, but I’m still happy with how it turned out. Pumpkin Mickey hat for the win!
They had two different Photopass opportunities throughout the night, one with the “Return to Sleepy Hollow” sign at the front of the stable, and one with the Headless Horseman himself, at the end of the event. They took two sets of photos for each one, a normal one, and one where they told us to “look scared”.
I’m really bad at the scared photos.
I do wish we’d gotten one of the two premium options, just to try something different, but we booked so last minute, I’m just glad we got in.
